Kamal & Mohanlal – Commandos, Kandahar.

If it happens, it will be the first ever movie to star two of India's finest, most versatile actors together: Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal are expected to don commando costumes for Major Ravi's Kandahar. Major Ravi who had earlier directed Aran in Tamil starring Jeeva and Mohanlal would now make Kandahar, which deals with, among other border issues, the IC-814 flight hijacking that shook the entire country eight years ago. After completing the bilingual
Aran in Tamil and Keerthichakkar in Malayalam, Ravi had made Mission Ninety days with Mammootty. Though critically appreciated, the movie didn't do well commercially. Kandahar will be his next project after completing another movie on Kargil war.Talking about the project, director Ravi said, "I have got authentic information on what really happened during the hijack episode. I would like to bring some of the facts that have been not revealed to people's notice. It is important people of India know these things" On casting two of the biggest actors of India, he says, "Mohanlal and Kamal share mutual respect and admiration for each other. They have been keen to do a movie together. If everything goes well, we can see them together as commandos."
Kamal had earlier joined together with Arjun for a police story on tracking down terrorists in Kuruthipunal. This time the actor will have Mohanlal for company.
There were also talks about Mohanlal and Kamal coming together for a movie based on a story written by the renowned MT Vasudevan Nair. The project was supposed to have a Japanese actor and Asin in the supporting cast. It would now be really interesting to see for which of the two movies the actors will be getting together first -Kandahar or the MTV project?
